The new trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot plunges into the game’s character development system, and it’s surprisingly complicated.

Increasingly, Kakarot is proving to be a fitting role-playing game, complete with side quests, complex skill trees, food stats and community boards to learn special skills. You will want to explore each of those features to become a living legend of Goku.

I’m a big fan of eating, both in real life and in video games, so it’s nice to see Kakarot combining a number of ways to find a variety of food. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the first immersive Dragon Ball game to appear in a while. Xenoverse and Xenoverse 2, while satisfying in their own way, are the first and foremost fighting game with some lightweight RPG elements. Kakarot is a fan of the Dragon Ball role-playing game that has been waiting since Game Boy Advance, Legacy of Goku 2.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is just one of many games coming out in 2020 to get excited.
